Raised in Vermont, Josie started downhill skiing as soon as she could walk, but dedicated most of her time to team sports as a kid. She played collegiate ice hockey at Amherst College, where she was a two-time national champion. After college, she began to pursue endurance athletics, and she started skimo racing in 2021 as an outlet from the stress of working in the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. A few of her favorite races include the 2022 North American Championships in Kicking Horse, BC, the Aspen Power of Four, where she teamed up with her husband in 2022, and the Tuckerman Inferno, a winter pentathlon on Mount Washington in NH.
Josie now lives in Boston, MA, where she works as a resident physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. On the rare occasion she is not working, you can find her at the cabin she and her husband are building and skiing, gravel biking, and trail running in the White Mountains of NH.
